My Sunflower Love
Grandma Ria made Samantha a new dress with matching hat and panty cover! It's beautiful and she LOVES it!!!
Oh... and she's learned how to open the cabinet safety locks. She was never interested or curious about it before, but she wanted to put the spray away and just open and Pop!
And as far as night training... Sam woke up with dry panties :) I knew she would because she'll go about 4-7 days dry in the morning, then wet one or two nights. This just means we have to control her water intake and she needs to control getting up to go potty.

Fun in the Hot Sun
We started the morning with a quick trip to the Urgent Care center for the doctor- the actual doctor, not Dr. Samantha- to look at my finger. It's been over two weeks since it started getting red and swollen; it wasn't getting better and still brings me tears at night. They were super awesome and answered all of Samantha's questions she had LOL The nurse even gave the doctor a head's up on my little curious bug. Every time someone came in the room, Samantha felt the need to tell them "My mama has a bobo on her finger." Anyway, long story short: It's an infection and I got prescriptions for antibiotics.
Sam even guided me to the exam table and made me lie down. [She's holding a rubber fish that was in the room, which she kept giving me to help me feel better.] Sweet girl <3
Afterwards it was off to Champion Park to play in the sandbox and mist park with Christian and Ms. Wendi for our weekly play date. I say "mist park" because it wasn't quite splash-able nor sprinkler- good. Regardless, they had a fun time.
A spur of the moment decision, tonight is Samantha's first night sleeping in "big girl panties". We told her if she has to go potty she can get up, but has to go back to bed. We'll see what happens.

Just Like the Cowboys Do... And the Cowgirls, Too!
It was Joe McDermot- Day at the kid's day concert. Although we prepared by listening to his CD all the way there, we stayed for three songs and since Samantha didn't seem too interested we went ahead and waited in line for Silly Sparkles. Samantha requested to be a mermaid, which made us all happy for a change up.

Chipmunks (First Movie)
Samantha attended and sat through her first full featured movie theater film this morning with Lori, Nate and Stella. Although it wasn't the movie we were planning to see, since the schedule was off, we saw Alvin and The Chipmunks.
Sweet Ella got Samantha a new dance bag to carry her shoes in.

Hose 'Em Down, Hose 'Em Down, Waay Down!
Samantha and Nate had fun playing in the pool... with no water, with the hose spray and with the pool full of water. Nate even enjoys getting hosed down!

Stick Masterpiece
Picture of the Day~ She is getting SO big!
I asked Nate, "Who's taller?" In my mind I was thinking Sam vs Nate; He was thinking different: "We are!" as he stands on his toes! LOL
We drew stick figures on the board this evening. I drew a Daddy one (on the right) and Samantha filled in his hair, ears, nose, hands and shoes, all in the perfect spot! Then she drew the little one on the right. This is how is dissects:

Tad Pool
Define Tad Pool: Samantha's term for "splash pad"; "sprinkler park"; "pool"
"Are we going to the tad pool?"
This morning I asked Sam what she wanted to do and if she wanted to go to the splash park. All she wanted to do was play [with Legos], read books, trace/color numbers and repeat and sing Spanish words and colors. She is getting very good at counting and matching pairs.
She is also using the word 'sensible': "That's not very sensible." I think she picked it up from Grandma.
The other term she uses is '...or something?', which she got from Daddy (I heard him say it tonight): "You gotta go to work or something?"

Another Full Day of Fun
Kid's Day at the Park~ Week 2~ Ballet Folklorico
Samantha met some of the dancers and was very impatient waiting for them to come out and dance.
Her first box of Lego/Duplo. There are bunnies and flowers and a little window that Grandma said she loves to play with. Instead of building, the first thing she did was put a block on each finger.
We made a new "chalk board" on the side of the island. Hopefully, that can keep her entertained while Mama is cooking... or at least keep track of our grocery list.
Every night Samantha wants to turn on the water for her bath; tonight was a little different- she wanted to take a shower since we had to wash her hair. She splish-splashed in the shower and had a blast! I turned it off to soap and sud her up and turned it back on for her to rinse off. You know, I didn't even have to rinse her hair off! She did it all by herself. Can you tell I felt totally useless to her. I guess I really need to get used to that!
