Always Thinking of Others

How sweet is Samantha, you ask?
~She got a candy cane from school and while leaving tapped it on the wall and it broke in two. Instead of getting upset and bursting into tears (in which I prepared myself to ask the teacher for a new one), she picked it up, looked at me and said, "I broke a piece of my candy cane off for daddy."Can you imagine that this came from a 3 year old?! I felt so proud to be her mama, and candy cane-less  at that. She did mention that I could share with Daddy.

~Sam has been having a cough for about a week so I called the doctor today to see what I can give her now that she's 3 and we have options for medicines. Oddly, after nap the cough got worse and she wound up with a fever. Although mopey, she was in high spirits. She found my medicine capsules from last week and was interested in them. I explained that I didn't feel well last week and that's why I had them. She asked if the medicine was for the babies and the kids at the hospital. She's always so concerned about the patients at work (although she mostly thinks they are kids and babies).

~After I put her to bed, I gave her a kiss on the forehead and told her I hope she feels better. Her immediate response, "Mama, I hope you feel better and your bobo that Ali gave you starts to feel better." I had kinda forgotten about Ali scratching me, especially once my angel is sick!
Sweet dreams, Love. Feel better <3
