Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Samantha woke up during the night and in the midst of things, I checked her temperature (around 5:00am-?) and it read 101.-something. I decided not to give her meds, just a damp washcloth and laid her back down. This morning she woke up cheery eyed and at a normal 98.4! The downfall: She had about 3 days energy in her excited to bust out!!! Luckily she was feeling well, because it's Daddy's birthday and we had a lot to get done!

Recently, Samantha has been very interested in her ABC's. Whenever she notices them written somewhere, like on a shirt or grocery cart, she runs her fingers along the letters and says A-B-C-D... for as many letters there are since she doesn't know the correct shape of the letters yet. And for a little someone who is not a HUGE fan of coloring/writing on cards (lately she'll just do a couple scribbles) she just went to town with Daddy's birthday card! I had already written everything in and she just had to take the markers and color where ever, preferably the vacant orange side, but OH NO! she had to scribble over each letter as if she wrote it. It's pretty genius if you ask me!
Preparing Daddy's color splash cake. I totally made this up!
Sam learning to frost... and learning to "accidentally" stick her finger in. She even helped add some heart "sparkles" on. (She calls sprinkles "sparkles".)
A fancy birthday dinner at the kid's table.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!
